First Featured Artist on AON: THE GATHERING. Adele Henderson's Version of Foggie Goes Live on 8th May

The first live voice of AON: THE GATHERING heard her final mix last week. Here's what she said.

Although this is a short video, it captures one of the most important moments in the Finn Moray journey, and also a lesson that you don't wear a black jumper when your sunburnt head is peeling.

Last week, Adele Henderson, the first featured artist to be awarded a song, came in to hear her final mix. This is what she said.

"We now have a mum of two singing her own version of Foggie with heart, passion, and purpose. She's from the village, for the village, and making a difference to the village. That's what Finn Moray is about."

A Song That Began in Grief and Became a Vehicle for Good

For me, it marks something deeper than a recording milestone. It reflects a process that began in grief, moved through writing and arrangement, and was shaped using technology and synthesised voices to bring the songs to life.

From there, it became a shared craft. Voices were added. Talent was supported. The work was refined. Particular credit is due to Mariano Beyoglonian as my mentoring producer and Paul Emerson as our sound and recording engineer.

We did it.

We took something difficult and turned it into something that now belongs to a community. The song is already being sung by children in the local school, played and streamed by local people with pride, and performed by Adele at community coffee mornings and celebration nights to raise money for local causes. Foggie has become a vehicle for good. Written by someone from Aberdeenshire, sung by someone from Aberchirder (Foggie to us), and rooted in the history and people of the village and the Shire.

It reflects our guiding idea in practice: Hear Scotland. Help Scotland.

Gratitude

I'm sincerely grateful to everyone who has contributed to this journey. In particular, my business partner Graeme, and Andie, Calum, Scott and Eilidh and the team at Finn Moray. To Richard Gordon, whose professionalism, wisdom, help and guidance has been invaluable, and Ally Begg, who believed in the idea before there was any traction. And to those who have taken the time to understand the purpose, support the work, buy the album or merchandise, donate, or simply help.

Shareholder Value and Stakeholder Value

There's a real point here, I think. For me, companies shouldn't dismiss shareholder value. It's important, but it should sit alongside and be equal to stakeholder value. The interests of communities, of place, and people matter and when we can help talent to emerge and contribute back to where we live, we should do so. It feels good to do it. We can do both.

Today Is About Adele

Today, though, is about Adele. She said yes first. She put her head above the parapet and backed the idea, with thanks to her sister Jayde for putting her forward. That decision made this possible.

We now have a mum of two singing her own version of Foggie with heart, passion, and purpose. She's from the village, for the village, and making a difference to the village. That's what Finn Moray is about.

Thanks also to Adele's husband Benjamin for being so supportive and encouraging to Adele and Finn Moray, too.

Adele's version will go live for download on Friday 8th May 2026 at 10am. If you'd like to be alerted when this happens so you can be one of the first to download and hear her version, just like the post and we'll notify you.
