Adele Henderson was live on Deveron FM this morning with presenter Lynn Rae, talking about Finn Moray, the Foggie single, and what it means to sing a song about the history of her own town.

Adele, whose featured artist version of Finn Moray's Foggie was launched last week, joined Lynn on the Breakfast Show to discuss the project, the recording process, and the community response since the single went live.

Deveron FM broadcasts on 105.3 FM in Turriff, Aberchirder and the surrounding areas, making it the local station for Adele's home village. It was a fitting platform for the conversation. A local singer, on local radio, talking about a song written about her local community.

"People have been getting in touch from all over. Folk who grew up in Foggie, folk who moved away years ago. The song has connected people back to the place in a way I never expected."

What Adele Said

Adele spoke about what drew her to the Finn Moray project in the first place, the experience of walking into Captain Tom's Recording Studio in Aberdeen and recording her version of Foggie, and the overwhelming response from people in Aberchirder and beyond since the single launched on 8 May.

"It's been incredible," Adele told Lynn. "People have been getting in touch from all over. Folk who grew up in Foggie, folk who moved away years ago. The song has connected people back to the place in a way I never expected."

She also spoke about the Social Compact and what it means to be part of a project where 50% of net profits go back to community causes. "That's what makes this different. It's not just about the music. It's about what the music does."
